Photosynth & Architecture

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Below is a photosynth we made a while ago of the Christchurch Cathedral (in New Zealand), we received an email today saying that it is now featured on Bing maps, which is great to hear!

We think photosynth is a great innovation from Microsoft labs and a fantastic tool for architecture. Interested in a photosynth of your project? Contact us today at info@barringtonarch.com

Autodesk Revit Door Families

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Here are a couple of images of some recent door families we have been building for a client, for use with Autodesk Revit. Door families (and door & window BIM content in general) are quite difficult to build as they often have a lot of parameters & setting built into them. The trick to building them is to lay all of the options/parameters in the most logical & user friendly way. As the BIM content you provide is supposed to make specifying your products easier, you must make sure there are know bottle necks within them.

Do you think providing BIM content to specifiers would increase your sales? Contact us today at: info@barringtonarch.com for a free BIM needs assessment.
